A real small big problem!

Hey guys I have a 84' chevy drag truck I bought and im having problems with a oil dipstick! I have a unknown year crate engine I bought at a farm that has been sitting in a barn for who knows how long, so I rebuilt the top half and cleaned her up the funness began, the dipstick had a big crack down the middle so I pulled it off and ordered a new one and now I have 3 sitting next to me and cannont find one that fits they all slide in ok, just the bracket doesnt line up its just about 3/4 off from the hole but if I just bolt it in theres a gab where the flange on the bottom of the stick seats on the block, I dont know if thats good or bad the numbers on the engine are M11289VP and the block # is 10066036 its that mexican targetmaster crate but any help I would take gladly thanks!
