Rear for 37 Olds Coupe
Has anyone put a rear in an 37 Olds?
I picked up a rear from a Granada, as I was told they were ideal for 37 Chevs, but evidently the frame from an Olds must be wider than a Chev . The closest I can come up with is a rear from an 68-74 Nova. Any ideas?Rick |

The Nova rear and the Grenada rear are about the same size widthwise.
There are websites with rearend measurements and descriptions. You're not going to have a problem finding a rearend for your Olds. Just grab the measuring tape and head for the junkyard. Remember, the measurement that matters is from drum face to drum face not backing plate to backing plate. |

If you know the original width of your rear end this will help:

The original rear is 60 3/4 inches. Supposedly the 68-74 Nova is 60 inches. The Granada rear that I got is 57 1/2 inches.
A guy I know has a 68 Nova that I can have the rear from. I haven't measured it yet, but if it is 60", I will use it. Thanks for the info. Rick |
