This is my first post so take it easy on me.I have a 53 chev cpe with a 69 nova 10 bolt with drum brakes. I found a 10 bolt posi trac with disc brakes out of a 82 camaro.I want to take the posi trac out and install it in the nova 10 bolt, along with the disc brakes. The nova axles have 28 splines and the camaro has 26 or vise versa, can I change axle gears and make this work? Thanks

Well...Let me see if I can help as no Advanced GM Nut has answered yet...
I would think the way to go about it is to find the rear I.D. on both and give them to a GOOD GM parts person to check the interchange of the axle (side) gears. I know the I.D. on the Camaro is on the right front axle tube but the Nova I am not sure of. Now this is how I would go about it but maybe someone here has the answer directly for you. |

O.K. I have both rears out. The disc brake camaro numbers are 22519735n and 3px c 210 2 The nova numbers are 1235542n and ja g265 3 The carrier bearing are the same size but I think the axle gears are different.Any help will be appreciated.thanks
