That's because the question and answer were about a half ton, not a 3/4 ton truck.

i built a 1948 chev truck 3/4ton some yrs back. I shortened the frame to short wheel base, shortened the bed (removed rust) .

i used a camaro rear diff , about 1977 yr model and used the camaro left springs. I had to build spring pockets into the frame rails. Used a mustang II based front suspension
