Post rear end for 1967 camaro

i have a 1967 camaro with a 3.08 rearend 10 bolt. i am wanting to change out the rear end for something with a little more beef. im looking for posy traction, 370-411 gears. i hear that the ford 9inch rear ends are the way to go. i quess the question is would it be cheaper to buy a pos differential and gears for my 10bolt or change it out for the ford 9 inch. also is there a certain model ford rear end that will bolt right up w/o any modifications. (cheap budget) thanks for your help

To use the rear end you have now, you will need a 3 series carrier to run the gear that you mentioned. 3 series carriers are very scarce at best. Your best bet is to buy an aftermarket carrier but they are pricey. By the time you buy the carrier, new gears, and have someone set them up you could easily spend over $700.00. On the other hand, you could get a ford 9" that is already a posi for $150.00-$300.00. Then make change the gear if needed. Your problem is going to be finding one that is narrow enough to fit under your camaro.
