What are your plans for the 37 Chevy as far as engine? If your installing even a warm SBC the stock 37 rear will not take it, unless you never put your foot into it. If it were mine and I was installing a SBC I would go with a Ford 9". Ideally keeping it all Chevy would be great. Unfortunately a Chevy 12 bolt axle is very expensive. A 10 bolt Chevy axle would be easy to come by and is durable enough for a warm 350 SBC.

Best rearends to use are Ford 8" out of a 69 mustang, Plymouth Volare 1976, Chevy S-10 4x4 several years fit (2 wheel drive is too narrow), 67-69 Camaro and Firebird will work as well. Ford Explorer will work but it has an offset center.
