Question rear end

I've got a 74 olds. cutlass supreme I'm toying with to cruz on the weekens around town the engine is a 350-4bbl with 10.5 comp. with a mild cam and a 400 trans with 2000 stall and shift kit what I'd like to know is should I invest in a posi unit or would it be ok to use the single track rear, I'm going to a 3.08 rear gear but I don't want to spend money I don't really have to you under stand, tires size is 235/75/15 any advise would be great

You are not really useing a rear axle ratio for drag racing. So I would say don't spend your money on a posi rear end. If you were going to drag race all the time then it would be differant. But just for cruising you can spend that money on something else. It is just a matter of what you want the car to do.ROY

I agree with Roy . . . for crusing, I would leave it alone and spend my money on something else. If you decide later that you want to get off the line quicker, then you can invest in gears and a locker when your funds are better.
