Which rear end gear weight??

Im goin to change my rear end cover soon because its leakin and not attractive!! Which weight do I use, synthetic or conventional? It's a 84 Cutlass with the factory 3:73 8.5" rear. Up front is a 383 stroker, 450hp, 350 trans but gonna switch to a 200-r4. Also I was lookin at these Trans-dapt clear rear end covers(made of bullet proof glass), anybody ever use these?

Those clear covers are pretty lame... IMO

Use a good gear lube according to your type of diff, stock cover, no silicone just a dry gasket. 85w90?

Don't paint it lime green or bright orange.

I'm with C-10, the clear covers are more for Off-Road use. To see when water gets in past seals. If you plan on an aftermarket cover get one of the aluminum TA or LPW covers with the girdle for extra cap strength.

Just use a 80/90 GL5 rated or better, with posi additive if needed. I've seen no benefits of using synthetic in your application, plus the synthetic cost's more.
