The odd thing is my 3/4ton suberbon 502/700R4 trans.410 gears, turns 2400@65 mph.There is about a 4 inch diff. in tire srze.
On the elCamino;
The #s on the rear housing says 373, however I suspect it may be 410s.
Of course your 307s will get better fuel mileage.

307s are good for all around driving but i would go with 373s.
