rear end guru's

First off I have set up many rear ends without any issues. Now my problem. Set up a chevy 8.5 10 bolt for a fellow going from 3.08 to 3.73 and open to posi. He asked that I set it up tight so I made sure what he meant by tight. Backlash is where his reference was to tight. I put new bearings in except for in the axle housing ends. Set it up with backlash at .006-.0075 checked in 5 different areas. Now he says he has a bad vibration only when letting of the gas(coasting) also saying as soon as he puts torque back on it by stepping on it the vibration is gone. I think u-joints but am looking for some other opinions

I just went through this a little while ago. It could be pinion angle. Your buddy didnt notice it before because the driveline was spinning slower with the 3.08's. Try putting in some shims to bring the pinion up and see what happens. Also check the slip yoke and see if its worn.
