Post Rear end ID ??

I bought a '31 Ford Model A and it came with a GM rear end in it. My question is I would like to upgrade to a "posi" unit but I'm not sure of the "make & year". It is a 10 bolt with the stamping # on the inboard side of the right axle BA 0112 G.
The casting # is 3888483.
Will I need to go to at least a 3.70.1 G.R. Or can I stick to the 3.08's that are in it now? I am running a 358 SB (.040 over ) with 10.2 to 1 compression, an XE256H-21 Comp Cam and a Wiend tunnel ram w/2 450 holleys. I would also like to know if any stock rear disk brakes would bolt on to this rear end with out any welding or radical mods.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi. The rear end codes generally take the form "aammddfs" where aa is the application code, mm is the month of the year, dd is the numerical day of the month, f is the factory and s is the shift- the shift number is not always present. One 10 bolt that would fit your description would be a 1969 Camaro with 2:56 gears built on January 12. The G stands for Chevrolet Gear and Axle. You should check out Camaros.net. These folks have a great site and are very helpful in working things out. Good luck.
