Rear end identification

Trying to find a 8.5 GM coil spring rearend for a 1980 elcamino from inner backing plate to backing plate it's about 52". Where can I find A list of ID Numbers or how can I identify the 8.5?

Identify

Go to any car salvage parts supplier and he has a interchange book that will list any and all rear ends that will work for you.

El Camino rear end

Have you checked the FAQ section at www.maliburacing.com? There's a ton of G-body info there.

http://www.oldsmobility.com/10bolt-tech.htm shows how to tell a 7.5" from a 8.5". Good luck, because the 8.5" for that car is rare and expensive.
