rear end rotation

When power is applied through a pinion gear to a ring gear the rear end assembly wants to rotate opposite the direction of tire rotation. In other words the leading end of the pinion shaft wants to rotate up toward the floorboard of the vehicle. (assuming that the car is moving forward)

My question is: How much torque is being transfered attemping to rotate (or twist) the rear end assy.

Is there any way to calculate this, or any rule of thumb?

Thanks

Al

There are mathematical models we can use for that but there are also so many variables that usually it is not done,,

This involves knowing the amount of torque being applied..the lever arms involved. and it depends on the amount of energy being applied at launch..
