hi. i have an 82 longbox V8 s-10 and im looking for some lower gears for better off the line performance. right now it is the stock 3.42's and i think a set of 3.73's would be ideal for me but i dont know how to go about getting them. im thinking it will just be cheaper to go to the junkyards and get a complete rear end with the gears i want and just swap them over but i dont know what rear ends will bolt right up and what will have the 3.73's i want. i would also like to get something a little stronger if i can since if im going through the trouble i dont want to grenade the gears in no time because of the v8 under the hood.posi or limited slip would also be preffered but ill settle for a one wheel wonder. anybody know what vehicles would have a rear end with these gears that would bolt right up with little or no mods??? thanks
