Rear Frame Kit-JEGS
I am getting ready to install a narrowed rear in my 35 ford. This is to accomodate the xxxxx-tra wide mickey thompsons that will now reside beneath this old bomb. Someone has butchered the rear frame trying to install a nova rear at some point and I am contemplating cutting the frame at the point where the X intersects the rear rails and boxing it in there. This would give me a seperate rear frame. When I look at the situation, I wonder if I should go to a rear frame kit such as the ones offered by JEGS. My biggest question is how does one fit one of these generic kits to form to the body. Would i utilize bushings where needed and cut and reform sheetmetal where needed? I'm doing wheel tubs anyway, so probably be doing a lot of cutting anyway. Does anyone have any suggestions and also, would like some opinions on these kits and their installation if anyone's ever done one of these. Or........would I be better of using and relocating the old 35's rear rails?
