rear gear
Good morn........rear end outta 57 Chev..is there an easy way to tell if it is posi or limited slip.
When car was running...all changed ( tubs.etc)the rear would bite on both tires,,dont really wanna pull pig.Selling rear end so would like to know what to advertise thank 4ur help

Posi and limited slip are the same thing.
GM coined the term 'posi' so Ford called theirs 'limited slip'.

Kruzr, put rear axle on jack stands and put in gear slightly above idle. Watch rear wheels and both should start rotating at same speed shortly after placing in gear. If you really have a posi track rear, I certainly be interested in the 3rd member (don't want to pay freight on the rest) You will be able to tell for sure when you pull the 3rd member.
