rear leaf springs

Q. on parallel leaf springs, should the distance between front to front & back to back of springs be same distance.Local shop installed new leaf springs on a partner of mines 46 Chevy's pickup. The front of the springs are 3" narrower than back of the springs.

It is common for rear leaf spring setups to be narrower in the front.
