rear shock problems

Hi everyone ,, I have a 1988 Mercury Couagr LS with the 3.8 L, Great car, with only 115,000 k . My problem is the rear shocks
I installed new ones, useing new rubber at the top and put them in the right way. For some reason i cannot keep them tight. When i slowly push down on the rear of the car, you can see and hear the shocks bump. I new they cannot fall off or anything but to keep them from shacking is a pain, I have tried to tighten them and have even used double nuts on the top.
How can i fix these other then tring new ones again. They were replaced only 6 months ago
thanks for any help
Richard from Ontario

lock it baby!

If you are going to use loctite, use the red kind. Not the blue. The red is for high torqued fasteners and won't vibrate loose.
