I have a 1962 1/2 ton with original rear end that I cant get parts for. Would like to go to scrap yard and get one that is limited slip,[ mine is not]. I know that I could take a tape end go find one but I was wondering if anyone has done this and can save me some time? Anything that will work but I do have $$$$ invested in 6 lug wheels.
I'm guessing that your rear end is probably 60 to 61 inches wide. The 1st gen Camaro rear end is 60 inches and the 2nd gen Camaro rear end is 61 inches. The mid and late '60s Chevy truck rear ends are probably the same width, but will be the truck 12 bolt and 6 lug. You can get a new Eaton Posi for the truck 12 bolt.
