rear window rust
i have a 71 lemans sport with rust around the rear window. it is common on these cars i hear. it is not rusted through but is rusty. if was hoping i could just blast it off and paint over then reseal the back window.. it is no show car just a daily runner. any thoughts?

What kind of blasting? sand,soda?

Very common problem on these cars........blasting and sealing will help, but to seal it up right, the whole window should come out.

Insidious problem with this era of car. Anything short of complete removal of rear window and elimination of all traces of rust is just a stop gap measure.
