Question Rearend

I have recently aquired a 1983 camaro. How much would it cost to get the rearend to act like new, and a new transmission put in?

dan,

if you're going to get the trannyshop to do all the work on removal, rebuild etc. then i would expect that you would probably spend around $1500 - $2000 to get a rebuild. Also, what is your rearend doing? If you're doing the work yourself on this, you should be able to change all your seals and bearings on the rearend. But before you do that, check your U-Joints. When these are going they make a lot of noise and vibration. That could be all you need, and they're easy and cheap to replace.

Good Luck

JB
