How Much Gas milage do you want? You have a pretty good heavy duty Chevy Already (its not a POS S-10) So you could just get a rear end gear for it, Higher the Gear Number, Harder it Pulls and Faster it accelerates. You're in a truck too So you might want to be careful... And when they say 12 bolt rear end, thats how many bolts are holding down the Diff gear. So you might not be too far from that anyway????

I'm New to Chevy, I'm mainly a Ford/Mopar man myself, I currently own a 68 Chevy C-20 pickup and co-own a 97 Mustang
My pickup runs a stock 4.10 gear in the rear and it pulls hard, but my crappy gas milage gets me, sooo its all up to you man, pull hard and crappy milage? or you happy with what you have? also you need to consider how much HP you're running or plan on running.. like I said earlier you pretty much have a Heavy Duty Truck already, so rear end strength might not be a problem, but your gearing is what you should look at if you want to pull harder..
