Is this reasonable?
Hello everyone I am new to the hotrodder's website and am hopefully going to be getting a rod in less than a year. What I am looking for is a 32 3 or 5 window coupe with a flathead engine and a manual transmisson. I was considering putting a magno blower on the flathead so what transmission would you reccomend. I would want to buy a car that is running and in good shape for around 15000. Can you guys reccomend any one method of finding cars in my area? And also what condition do you think I would be able to get one in for this type of money? I would plan on using it as a daily driver. Thanks, Steve. BTW any feedback is appreciated even noob bashing I have a tough skin dont worry.

Usually the hazing consists of myself giving there better half a big kiss! LOL
J/K I think the 30's model coupe's are nice. Add a 4 speed, flathead and a magnacharger and you have a nice ride. Only problem I see (In these parts anyways) is getting that setup for 15G's???? Keep an eye out and its a possibility to get a nice start, but I bet you need to add some xtras later. Hg p.s. Welcome to the club. |

Just an idea, but maybe you should also look into Model A's. 32's are usually in a pretty high price range, if you hit up ebay you'll see that really rough bodies alone go for $5-6k and finished cars usually (not always) go for $25k+. Model A's are just as good looking as the 32's in my opinion. Check out cboys journal to see how you can make your own for a lot less moolah

thanks
thanks for all of the input this far. My mention of the magnacharger (magno bc i cant type) was something I would be looking to to later anyways. When i am able to get a rod though I would just like something running and drivable that is a flathead manual coupe. Thanks again for all of the comments and I will be sure to look into all of them.

Check this out
If you can see yourself with a roadster www.speedwaymotors.com has the body and frame kit for about 8000 in glass..I think that if a fellow was to have a decent discipline in his parts choices that car could be finished and on the road for 15,000..and be a nice car in the bargain..
If one really needed/wanted a coupe a removable top could be done and wind up looking something like a 3 window coupe when done.. Just a suggestion for you.. OMT
