Post rebuild a 454

Hello Everybody! I am happy for being with you, this is my first post.
I have a chevelle 68 and get a 454 '76 from a boat. I found that it have not timing chain, has 2 gears. The cam and crank turn in different sense.I need to change the camshaft?
The cylinder heads are oval port #353049 (122cc), the pistons are flat.
That cam and compression recommend me to get around 500 HP with 500 lb/ft? a Holley 750 vac secondary it's ok?
some ideas?
Thanks Hernan

get a bigger carb around 850cfm,a decent cam will really wake up a 454 fisrt you have to put a timing chain in it and do a compression test,or tear it down and start from scratch, bore 030,port the heads, balance your rotating assembly, headers, you might want to mill to heads or find some closed chamber heads, have your valves angle ground.
