i'm wanting to build a Mini-Buggie out of an old Kawasaki 350 3wheeler, and i was wondering, how much power can i get out of the engine that's on it? and what suggestions do ya'll have for createing the most power out of a single cylinder engine?

a big bore kit, pipe and rejetted carb, a NOS kit for a Mikuni carb flange if your crazy.

i'm kinda leary of useing NOS, but the others sound pretty sound, it has a Cobra exhaust on it now, is that a good system? as you can tell i'm new to Motor cycles and ATV's in general

just a FYI this is the transmission/rearend section.

Mill the head down a little, take a dremel tool and clean up the ports a little, do a port-matching job for the manifolds, but I wouldn't try actual porting without good knowledge of how it all works with velocity, flow, etc.

sorry about posting in the wrong section, i have a friend that knows how to port one of these small motors, how much do you suggest, rough estimate shaveing off of the head? like a few thousandths or so at a time?

A neighbor up the street from me makes 110 HP on a 6.5 horse(originally) Briggs and straten for use in a garden tractor puller called a Mini-rod.

I'm not sure... I don't know exactly the min. safe valve/piston clearance (shaving head brings valves closer to piston, they hit and you have scrap metal), I think 0.050 inch... not sure. I'd ask someone experienced with the engine in question.

was that with the stuff that was listed before? that's pretty impressave man 110HP i'd be happy to just get a measly 50 or 60 out of this engine, he must have a blast with his Mini-Rod, and with the clearanceing, would getting the piston TDC and measureing the distance with like a feeler gauge or something like that work... i'll just call a friend of mine, he sent his top end to a machene shop to have it ported, polished, and clearanced O.O, i think he had a set of valvs put in, i'm not 100% on that though, i'll find out what shop he used, and see how much they want to do a thing like that on that head
