Rebuilding power window mechanisms and alignmemt.

I have pulled the doors on my 92 Z28 and removed all the door, window, electrical and locks.

1. Has anyone ever rebuild the scissor mechanism, rollers and sliders to as new condition? The scissor pieces are pressed together and are very sloppy, can you drill them out some kind of sleeve or nut/bolt used?

2. After all the pieces are cleaned and degreased what kind of lubes should be used on the slider bars, power window springs and gears, etc.?

Any other solutions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Jim

Get yourself an OEM new regulator and grease it with white grease.

Am with Martin get a new OE assembly.
If you are able to find parts for that one, keep this in mind. Those regulators have HUGE amounts of pressure in them, relieve that pressure without securing it and you WILL hurt yourself!

I watched and later laughed my arse off when I guy that I worked with did this on a 90's camaro, took a chuck of his finger right off...Eric

Clarification

Thank you for you assistance. I have new OEM regulators and am aware of the issues in removing and attaching these to the assemblies.

I am most concerned with the scissor assembly itself. The regulator moves the scissor up and down which is how the window is raised. There is a bushing, pivot or whatever it is called that attaches the two scissor handles that raise the window. It looks like they are worn to the point of wobbling. This bushing is what I want to replace. I don't believe there are OEM replacements for this part.

If someone has replaced this on any other type of power widow assembly I would like to know what they did and used.

It looks like you could drill or punch out the bushing but what would you put in its place?

Jim

Well, I am confused. I have swapped out many of those doors, and I can't picture what you are talking about. The "regulator" , "sissor", "Motor" are all one as far as I remember. Certainly any part there is still serviced thru the parts dept at Chevy.
