Post rebuilding a rochester carb, or buy a new one

im thinking of rebuilding my old roch 4 barrel carb.i know the kits only 25.00 but would it be better for me to buy a new one?i dont know how much a new roch is i know a remanufactured one is 99.00 and thats cheap but ive heard that there a rip off,should i rebuild my own?

You can rebuild it yourself, but you might have to tinker for a while. 99 bucks is pretty cheap for a rebuilt carb. You might weigh how much time it will take you to rebuild yours, your rebuild kit, {don't forget the float} and the carb dip which is kind of expensive. You'll spend fifty bucks rebuilding it plus your time.

I rebuilt mine but it still leaked so I bought a remanufactured carb that costed $150, including the kit, I've spent close to $190. $99 is a good price
