reclear

hey all, just sprayed my car today, and have a little dirt in the last coat of clear on the trunk lid. how long does it need to sit before hitting it with 600 grit and reshooting it? thanks, dave.

If you are going to cut n buff, theres no need to reshoot, just sand out the dirt nibs with 1500-2000 and buff.

The paint can or tech sheet should tell you how long to wait if you feel like you must reclear or werent planning to buff out the paint job.

thanks, the rest of the car is fine except for the trunk. thought i would just reshoot it. the tech page only say's 16-24 hours at 77 degrees. nothing else. i take it that is for cut and buff, so should be the same for reshoot. dave.

The "recoat window" is the amount of time you have to reshoot WITHOUT sanding,in your case you WANT to sand, so anytime you get around to it is fine. I hate cut and buffing but I can lay down clear slick as dog doo and quick too so most of the time I'll reclear and only cut & buff the high dollar jobs you can sand & reshoot the next day with most any clears...
