Recommendation for my 54 Bel Air

Hey everybody. Brand new to these forums and rods in general.

I have a project 54 bel air I'm working on. Was wondering if anyone can recommend a good donor car model for the engine, trans, etc. I'm ready for the work involved, but am unsure of what I should be looking for. Camaro? Monte Carlo?

I'm not building a show car, just something I can cruise in with the wife (and at the same time, not annoy everyone on the highway with the stock engine).

Any suggestions are helpful. Maybe I can get some good insight from all the pros here.

Thanks. The info in these forums are great!

If you're looking to update, I'd think any later-model Malibu or that type car would be a good donor for driveline, front end, or powertrain parts. These cars are not too expensive to buy.
