Yes, the DAP HHR (or any other quality top and trim) contact adhesive would be fine. You need to scuff the closed cell foam on both sides to make sure the adhesive bonds with the foam and the Whisper. The dash pad would also need to be wiped down with mineral spirits, scuffed, wiped down again, and left to completely dry. You want to take the shine off of it and also any cleaners, waxes, silicones, etc. that may have been used on it. After that, light coats of adhesive (light coat, let dry, re-coat) until you have complete coverage. If the pad is in good shape with no voids, cracks, etc., you can put the Whisper right over the pad.
