Recycled leather is wildly popular right now. They come out with a new sample book of it almost every week. There is every finish imaginable, and they all look like real leather. Recycled leather, also called re-cast leather, has a 100% polyurethane face like Ultraleather, and the backing is made of recycled leather. Basically it's Ultraleather that feels more like an actual piece of leather. It runs retail for $35 to $45 a running yard (36" by 54"), which makes it $2.59 to $3.33 a square foot, which is not that much cheaper than real leather. There are also tons of 100% polyurethane products out there that do not have the recycled leather backing. Most of those have a knit rayon backing, and can be found for less than the recycled leather. The good news for you is that a pickup truck takes far less yardage than the average car with a back seat.
These are just some of the many different sample books I have.
