Well, I am colourblind, so my opinion isn't really worth much

It is nice no doubt.. I looked high and low for years and even the Ferrari reds look orange ... but the 78 Toyota formula is in there with them ,, sometimes the car style or light will throw it off

i think a red that is a little darker, rather than lighter (orange) will go better with the black accent color you will be using
that toyota red on that porsche looks good with the black

I have heard of a "Boyd's Red", named after Boyd Covington. Not really sure what red it is, although.

I've found a few more pictures of the car in that youtube video, and yes it does look quite orange

Having said that, my car was originally available in two reds
Pimento or Signal

Pimento red is pretty orangey, and signal is more of a real red

I'll see if I can get some pictures up

Can someone explain the paint codes and names to me?

For example, one of the colours originally offered for my car was signal red

Apparently it has a ppg code of 70966

But what does this actually mean?

Are all manufacturers signal reds the same?

Can I order '70966' from anyone?

Or is that just the code given to it by one paint manufacturer, and Signal red is the name given by the car manufacturer?

Can there be different signal reds with different codes?

Can a paint manufacturer supply the same paint code to two different car manufacturers who then give it two completely different names, but in reality it's still the same colour?

I know they're stupid questions, but if I don't ask them I'll never learn

Tri 5 T-Birds had a couple of good reds Flame Red and Thunder Bird Red. The Flame Red had touch more orange than the latter. Sorry, but I have never been into the red or yellow Hot Rod colors unless you get above the 40s.
