reducing road noise

I am wanting to reduce the road noise in the cab of my 83 D-150,,
currently re working the dash to add factory AC so I will have interior access to the fire wall, floors

any one familiar with the "lizard skin" products,, paint on sound deadner,, does it work or are there other options to control interior noise?

thanks

lizard skin.........

To start,LS is overpriced,i made my own,1 gal of white paint (water soluble) and 2 lbs of micro spheres (Aircraft spruce co,) mixed with a drill, used an undercoat gun to apply, sprayed 2 coats (allowing 1st coat to dry)then sprayed 2nd coat, then bought bubble wrap (home depot) sprayed wrap and my homemade LS,with 3m contact cement, stuck wrap to my LS,put door in sun,(outside facing sun) got a 75 Degree reduction on temp ,measuring inside to outside with temp probe.

I like it,, still doing my research,, but I believe I will be using the micro sphere mix,, one thing I don't understand is that if the micro pebbles mix well in any paint,, why use water based latex? solvent based enamel is rock solid when it comes to sealing as well as scratch and nick resistance, water based latex is less expensive and easy clean up, is that why?

my LS...

Cost and water clean up are one factor, but quickly drying is the main reason i used it,once it dries, its very hard to take off.

glass beads

I haven't checked what the micro spheres mesh size is . usually glass beads for bead blasting. it comes in different mesh sizes. dofferemt prices from different suppliers. when we were making Oem parts for the Harley factory we had to bead blast some tig welds to clean before the chrome plating process. the machinery was old and leaked beads on the ground. in the right sunlight you would see a rainbow floating above the ground. the beads eventually break down and wouldn't clean or probably insulate as well. I used to take the change our residue home to use in my blast cabinet. we got the best price from W W Grainger co

The micro spheres are just that, they are like extremely fine granules, not the beads for bead blasting.
