re: regarding YoungRodderz and GMCkid

Hi Guys, I just followed the link above, and discovered that the thread seems to have been started by our old friend "GMCkid" ... who some of you mistook for me a while back. If you all recall, "GMCkid" had offered Jon (and the whole board) a public apology ... which many of us accepted gracefully. I actually JOINED Youngrodderz JUST so that I could post a reply to remind him of that apology. YoungRodderz Thread Don |

The important thing to remember is that with their attitude and propensity for foul language most respectable forums won't pay any attention to them. After all they're just a bunch of snot nosed know nothing juvenile delinquents anyway.

re: regarding YoungRodderz and GMCkid
What they're doing is, they're marking our threads in other forums as "spam" or complaining about them.
I got myself a one way ticket to being banned in Club Hot Rod by posting the link to the bad boys thread there, and them reporting it. I find it hilarious that they wrote Richard an email telling him that they got his back Mike |

You mean to say that they banned you for posting a link to the thread here? What a bunch of ....... never mind. The profanity filter would never let me say it.

Yeah, I was nice too. I used Jon's guideline post until GMCkid probably reported it

Removing the links doesn't seem to be working for them. Presently 49 members and 153 "guests" viewing the bulletin board, and I would suspect that the MAJORITY of them are viewing Jon's thread. Most viewers ever was 530 ... that must have been a really HOT topic! |

re: regarding YoungRodderz and GMCkid
Just to bring this back to focus (I split the original post from the Gas Monkey thread).
GMCkid -- trolled, then apologized. 66GMC -- completely different guy. There's been some confusion about this, and we need to clarify it once and for all. BTW, I've redirected the http://www.hotrodders.com/bad url. Now, it points to our new Monkey Boys Garage section. This means that everyone who saw the photos or the video, and wants to follow up, will see a very organized summary of this situation, rather than a 10-page thread.

re: regarding YoungRodderz and GMCkid
From what I've witnessed, GMCkid, or any of those kids who spammed our forums, do not have the technical skills to hack their way into a chicken coop. Their vast abilities are limited to registering on other forums, and posting graffiti. They don't even know how to conceal their IP addresses. If you want, just pick up the phone and call one of their mommies.
Their forum is 99.9% smack-talk, and 0.1% tech. That's why they won't succeed. Hotrodding forums on the net gain respect because of the information they have, and they hardly have any. I've reviewed hundreds of hotrodding forums for inclusion in our Crankshaft Coalition Master List of Hotrodding Forums. Besides the 130+ in that list, I have another large list with hotrodding forums that exist on the web, but aren't yet large enough to post on the list. I've seen a lot of hotrodding forums. Besides, the fact that their admin repeatedly trolled our forums, and apparently is still in a leadership position over there, is ridiculous. By the way, they are helping us spread the word, not hurting us. By making such a big deal out of the Gas Monkey fiasco, they send our message straight to the admin of these forums, rather than just posting in the general population where it could get overlooked. The admins pass it around among the upper levels of the online hotrodding world. This prevents us from being accused of spamming, because we never posted on those forums. They also over-dramatize it so much, that people just have to check it out to see what all the commotion is about. They are too inexperienced to understand how bad publicity is still publicity. We should thank them for all they've done to help us in the past week. Also, in the next couple of days, we'll have an extra-special surprise for them

re: regarding YoungRodderz and GMCkid
I've been gone for most of the last month. What happened? I briefly read the "monkeyboys" page Jon put up but I don't understand how GMCkid and the youngrodderz group are involved with the whole thing...
EDIT.. I just looked in the dump and saw all of the pictures. Now I must ask what caused them to do that? And, of course, how those relate to the Gas Monkey Garage thing... Last edited by Blazin72 : 08-28-2006 at 12:02 AM. |

By acting like children...
They, as usual, jumped in without reading anything thoroughly and overreacted. Apparently to the rest of us, these young kids that have all this appeal for the rat rod styling also look up to the 'tough guy' marketing approach, as if all hotrodders should be street racing, doing burnouts on public streets, giving fingers to the cops, and driving deathtraps...
Personally I see nothing wrong with some people building ratrod-styled cars and trucks, AS LONG AS THEY ARE SAFE AND PROPERLY ENGINEERED. No floors, open driveshafts in the bucket bodies, batteries on the passenger floor, no front brakes, welds that look like bubblegum, etc are all dangerous not only to the builder/driver of these deathtraps, but anyone sharing the road they are on if/when it does go bad. I don't care how 'tough guy' it may look, there is always someone bigger/badder/tougher to get your come-uppance from. If the thing is low with airsprings that is OK by me, hell the Kustomsledd lays body/bumpers on the ground when I get it where we are going with it, and it draws a crowd. Also has been getting plaques/trophies for best in class at some of our local shows, and that is with the body in rusting primer with welds showing. I have just recently started the bodywork/filler stages this past 2 months. Anyhow, it's lower than a lot of these ratrods but not to the point of being unsafe. It has an engine-driven onboard air system that is self-filling/leveling in order to drive it, and if something were to happen with the air system I have separate valves on all 4 wheels to isolate a bad airspring. Not to mention I am not stupid enough to think about driving it if it were to have a failure with the air ride just to save a tow. So I'm a little partial to the whole deal, the difference is I'm not impressed by someone acting bad-azzed just to make a statement, like the children are(and yes I keep calling them children because they act like children, my 8 yr old daughter has more maturity) If they want to act like hoodlums and posers over on the Youngrodders site or at Ruffrodders or Club Hot Rod or Old School Rodders or wherever else they are trolling then so be it, more power to them. This is Hotrodders.com and not Posers.com or Hoodlums.com and Jon does'nt put up with it here. And to start this all over "promote our site/video by suggesting a charity" is just low and is a smack in the face to all of us here who are NOT posers or hoodlums that look up to the tough guy marketing persona. We BUILD/MODIFY/DRIVE our cars and trucks here, they dont sit around untouched for long. I'm so sick of marketing companies trying to cram product down our throats that we do not need....and the dumbazzed way that they think being tough is gonna do it. Wanna know my favorite commercial, even though I do not and never will use their product... the Vonage commercial with the 'tough guy' on the trampoline, who has'nt got the brains of a stump and falls against the side of the swimming pool.... I laugh myself silly EVERY time I see it.... Doc |

Looky what I found over on YR.... open letter to Kyle...
QUOTE***those guys over there wanna see hot rods. not hear bull*****. and by lookin at this site. you can tell the "young guns" are bull***** right now. we need to get off our arses and do something.***edited by me slightly for profanity, also this was directed to Ruffrodders but applies here as well...
I agree. Time to stop the BS and actually do something constructive. You want respect, it has to be earned. Kyle I don't exactly know what your problem with me is but it seems you have serious issues. Don't make me call Mtv and have them come out to your house to pimp your truck out, get your butt out of the chair and FIX THAT TRUCK.....You really dont wanna be 14 and called a 'chainer', do ya? By the way, thank you for cutting this.... QUOTE*** If they want to act like hoodlums and posers over on the Youngrodders site or at Ruffrodders or Club Hot Rod or Old School Rodders or wherever else they are trolling then so be it, more power to them. We BUILD/MODIFY/DRIVE our cars and trucks here, they dont sit around untouched for long*** out of context and putting it up over at OSR where of course it gravitated into the typical lame gay bashing jokes that 14 year olds think are just SO funny... For the record I have never met Jon here face-to-face, would'nt know him if I saw him at a show, obviously because he lives in Colorado and I am in Indiana. I do however have a lot of respect for him, and why? Because he saw my website and the amount of tech it has, and wanted to share it with everyone here at this forum. I was happy to allow him unlimited use of my pages. You see, not only did I build the car, but I wrote the HTML for my pages also. I did not steal them from anybody. Jon obviously felt the car was interesting enough and worthy enough to be a Featured Project. My question to you is.... Where is yours? You act like a child, and I will continue to call you a child. You want respect it has to be earned. You dont earn respect by bashing other people who HAVE done what you want to do on other internet forums. I have been lurking around quite a bit at the other places lately, and I bet I am not the only one, judging from the other posts I have seen directed at you... For the record, I LIKE ratrods and primer and rusty...... It's what I can afford being a single parent living on whatever wrench-turning I can drag in for myself. I don't work for the 'Man'... I AM the man. I like lowriders, big 4x4's, choppers, drag cars, I even like swamp buggies. I like teaching my 8 year old daughter about building the Kustomsledd. She digs it. I don't discriminate because somebody wants to buy a hotrod... 'chainer' you call them... I'm surprised you have'nt called Higirl here a chainer yet, she bought her rod and is having fun with it... oh wait, yeah, she's a girl so it's OK huh? My dislikes include liars, thieves, child molesters, "tough guys"who never seem to learn until someone ends up dead, posers who talk the talk but never walked the walk, and snotnosed kids who need to get whupped to the point it would be worth the bail money, as someone here pointed out in an earlier thread. Wanna know why there's no tech at YR and ppl don't wanna join? Stop with the fake 'rebel' BS and show a little respect around there and it'll grow. I bet Jon can remember when this site had under 200 members... I'm willing to be the man to forgive and forget. And I do know a lot about trucks like yours, and willing to help. It's up to you Kyle. Be the man or be the punk kid along with the others... your choice??? Doc Last edited by DrChop : 08-29-2006 at 03:35 PM. Reason: clarifying beginning quote. |
