relocating air shocks on 9 in

I am putting a ford 9 in out of a 68 ford f 100 into my 79 camaro and i have to put in new spring mounts and shock mounts. the stock upper shock mounts in the body are pulling out so i was thinking of slightly relocating them to permit welding in new bracketry. I have herd that a shock on each side of the axle helps prevent wheel hop,( one in front one behind) Is this true? Also where would i look to find spring and lower shock mounts. should i remove them off my old 10 bolt and rework them? all advice welcome. thanks for your time.
