Post remanufactured holley

i just replaced the carb on my 65 galaxie 352 ci with a stock remanufactured replacement. the car runs and starts sooooo much better. i know little about carbs so i dont want to go making adjustments to it without some insight and its suppose to be factory adjusted but i think it needs some tweaking. first off if i let it run in the drive for a little bit i get these black carbon spots on my drive way where the exhaust is pointing to which tells me its too lean, or could it be just blowing the cobwebs out, the car has been sitting awhile. and second, the choke isnt electric or manual, i looks to be vacuum operated, the only thing i can think of is it operates off the exhaust but im not sure. like i said, im no carb expert or novice for that matter but i think i remember seeing carbs like this and there was a sheilded metal tube coming from the exhaust manifold to the choke. please correct me if im wrong and point me in the right direction.

sounds like your missing some vital parts for the automatic choke mechanism, you need the tube and choke stove to release the choke fully, thats why it runs so rich, install these parts or convert to manual choke and the engine will run clean again
