Post Remote Brakes

Any suggestions on remote power brakes? I would like to keep my clean firewall.

You can use a slave cylinder actuating a pushrod on a remote vacuum assisted brake cylinder/booster. Getting the piston sizing equal between master (firewall mounted not the original master cyl) and slave cylinder is key for this to work properly. There used to be kits for this does anyone know if they still make them?

if you find the pedal setup from a van called a toyita HiAce (dont know what they are called in the states) it has the master cylinder mounted transversely with a linlage so there is nothing sticking through the firewall. its either that or under floor mount, in which case id use a GM hydraboost unit, it works better than you can dream of.

I'd go for the GM hydraboost. NAPA sells them new for about $160. Use the one for a 1985 Cad Seville......Don

Thanks....That sounds better than the $450.00 I found as a kit on line. I'll check them out.
