remote start

well a few of my friends got it in my head to do a remote start on my car. and after thinking about it for awhile i would kinda like it. i think it would be really cool. now its not needed and honestly i dont really care if it dont do it. . . but if it can be done in my driveway and fairly cheap why not . i have a shaved door handle kit and it has 4 channels and im only using 2. here is the kit im using.

is it possible to add the remote start to that system??? i dont mean to fully remove the ignition key start and all that. to clarify what i mean. . . i can push a button on the key chain to start my car from a distance. i get into my car put the key in turn it to the on position and then drive. turn it off like normal. and its not the only way of starting the car its just a now and then option.

my car is a 70 elky.

If you dont need it dont do it. They are tough on your harness if not done properly. I have repaired more vehicles that had a remote start installed by a "professional" that the installation failed due to shoddy workmanship. They all come with those pinch through the wire connectors which is the worst thing you can do to a wire. It will usually work for a while until a little moisture gets in and the wire starts to corrode.

I have installed 3 with all soldered and heat shrunk connections and it is a lot of work and requires attention to detail. If you are not expert at electrical repairs and wiring techniques I would not attempt it.
