remove all the old seam sealer?

i am stripping down my early 80's dodge to bare metal. There is a ton of seam sealer on these trucks and i was wondering if i should remove all of it or if its ok to leave some in the non problem areas? i am digging it all out on the winsheild drip rail because thats where these trucks rot but what about in the body lines between the different sections? its all original paint and the sealer looks good except a hair line crack throught it. I am just thinking it might be a PITA to remove and then re-apply after the expoxy and get it to look good again, as the body lines are fine. Any suggestions or help would be great, also whats the best way to dig/remove old seam sealer?

Your right, it is a pita. Been there, learn my lesson. If nothings wrong in those areas leave it alone. Fix only those areas that need to be addressed.

Heat will loosen it somewhat. But, you'll still have to get in there and scrape it. It won't just peel off if heated. Like I said, been there.

seam sealer is also expensive...30.00 just to redo the driprails..at least a hundred to do all of it ,not to mention labor and time wasted that could be better spent on the problem areas,If it looks good leave it."fast & firm " works pretty well for me
