Remove Head Light Switch??

In my '72 Nova I have removed the dash area where the speedometer is in anticipation of my new Nordskog Digital dash panel. I have the old dash completely removed all but the headlight switch. I have the wire disconnected but cant get the switch out from the dash itself. I remember (a while ago) that there is a special way to remove the "Pull Rod" but I cant remember. Does anyone know how to get the rod out so I can move forward?

Jim

There is a little button on the side of the switch......Pull your knob all the way out, press the button and it will pull out the rest of the way.

And the front bezel usually just unscrews.

I dont see a button and there is a piece that unscrews from the front of the dash, but the rod or knob on the end of the rod will not come out/off.

There is a little button on the switch behind the dash. Its not very big and is usually spring loaded. you pull the knob all the way out and push the button and it will come right out.

I figured it out. On the back there was a small hole where it looks like a push button should be. I took a small screw driver and pushed it in, the rod popped right out. This site has a great picture of what it should look like:

Thanks for the replies.
