denatured alcohol works best!
It's used mostly in printmaking and great for stuff like this if you can get your hands on it. ........or a rum soaked sledge hammer. <img src="graemlins/mwink.gif" border="0" alt="[mwink]" /> |

Remove Tint Without Chemicals
I ACTUALLY GOT DESPERATE ONE DAY AND USED MY SHARK STEAMER TO LOOSEN THE GLUE - AND PEEL OFF THE TINT - I STILL HAD TO USE ELBOW GREASE WITH A RAG TO GET RESIDUE BUT BETWEEN THAT AND THE OVEN CLEANER SHOULD BE CAKE

true answe!!
I found the answer... It's called Fw1 Racing formula (High Performance Cleaning Wax).
I had bought it at a gas station a while back. It works great on the paint. I tried everything I could think of. Just remove the tint with a razor blade and leave the glue (no worries). spay on the FW1 and wait 2 minutes. Use a razor blade to remove the glue. You won't need any elbow grease. It cleans the window to a shine as you go. A simple wipe down with a paper towel and you're finished. www.FW1shine.com |

Do you realize that it's been 6 1/2 years since anyone posted to this thread?

Hmm... Do you realize how lucky you are?
The reason this forum gets posts 6 1/2 years after it's creation is due to google.
Are you aware that this post is getting page one status on Google for the search term, "removing old window tinting"? Your rude final response causes all those views you're receiving to leave before posting or sharing or even joining your site. Want some advice mod? Delete my post, edit your own, and keep your mouth shut. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. People pay thousands to have page one status on google, appreciate what you have before its gone. Good luck |

We moderators, and a lot of long term active members, point these things out with no malice intended, because this is a tech forum on a hot rodding site and when nobody posts to a thread in 6 1/2 years the chances of the original poster still being interested in an answer to the original question, or even still being an active member of the site are absolutely zero. See this thread as an example: CLICK HERE As a matter of fact, the original poster's (Dougs67camaro) last post was March 26, 2003. That's a little over 8 years ago and he's never been back. Just because the search "removing old window tinting" comes up on the first page of a Google search is irrelevant, there are over a million results for that search.
Why you would consider this an afront to the person who posted 6 1/2 years late is beyond me. If the person who posted (TXregulator) was offended, I apologize to him (or her). You, however, can take your condescending, holier than thou attitude back to "earth" (which turns out to be Florida) and stay there.

Good luck with that attitude.

You become a member of this site and your first post is a tirade directed at me about something you don't understand and you think I have an attitude? Are you planning on contributing anything to the discussions here or are you only going to smart off, criticize, and pretend you are superior?
