any glue from your windows after you peel the tinted
film off.

Finger nail polish remover works good.It's the acetone that does it.You can get a big bottle for a buck.Smells like your kid sisters room for a while.

my buddy who a tint shop in vegas and tints for major dealerships sez" put car in sunny location and spray 409 on windows and cover w/black trash bag. heat causes film to loosen and peals right off. now why didnt i think of that???

Place black plastic on the outside of the doorglass, spray ammonia on the inside of the glass over the tint, take a blow dryer is it's below 85 degrees, and heat up the outside of the glass..start at the corners of the tint and just smush it up to the center of the window and remove the tint..should take most of the glue with it, if not spray with ammonia again and wipe until clean..

I ACTUALLY GOT DESPERATE ONE DAY AND USED MY SHARK STEAMER TO LOOSEN THE GLUE - AND PEEL OFF THE TINT - I STILL HAD TO USE ELBOW GREASE WITH A RAG TO GET RESIDUE BUT BETWEEN THAT AND THE OVEN CLEANER SHOULD BE CAKE

I found the answer... It's called Fw1 Racing formula (High Performance Cleaning Wax).
I had bought it at a gas station a while back. It works great on the paint. I tried everything I could think of.
Just remove the tint with a razor blade and leave the glue (no worries).
spay on the FW1 and wait 2 minutes. Use a razor blade to remove the glue. You won't need any elbow grease. It cleans the window to a shine as you go. A simple wipe down with a paper towel and you're finished.

We moderators, and a lot of long term active members, point these things out with no malice intended, because this is a tech forum on a hot rodding site and when nobody posts to a thread in 6 1/2 years the chances of the original poster still being interested in an answer to the original question, or even still being an active member of the site are absolutely zero. See this thread as an example: CLICK HERE As a matter of fact, the original poster's (Dougs67camaro) last post was March 26, 2003. That's a little over 8 years ago and he's never been back. Just because the search "removing old window tinting" comes up on the first page of a Google search is irrelevant, there are over a million results for that search.

Why you would consider this an afront to the person who posted 6 1/2 years late is beyond me. If the person who posted (TXregulator) was offended, I apologize to him (or her). You, however, can take your condescending, holier than thou attitude back to "earth" (which turns out to be Florida) and stay there.
