Removing the body

Greetings All,

I have a question about removing a body from its frame. I have a 37 pontiac that I have stripped the inside minus the front / rear glass and the dash. Any one out there have an idea the weight involved. I have pulled all the fenders and I plan to leave the doors on to help with the rigidity when the body is on it dolly. Everything I have read says get several freinds with strong backs and weak minds but I am tryng to see how many I will need.

It would help if you mention what body style car you have!
If a coupe or convt., about 5 friends and you should do it.
If a 2door or 4door sedan, make is 7 and you.
If a woodie wagon, don't do it.

I used my engine hoist, a couple of jack stands, a piece of 2 x 3 rect. tube. I lifted the front, set it on the stands and tube and lifted the back.

I'm with redsdad on this one....why wreck your friend's backs.

Besides, I don't have 5 friends.
