Removing Glass from a Vent window

I have a 54 chevy truck and am trying to figure an easy way to remove the vent glass from the frame anyone know a trick to aid in its removal?

The way I always did them at the glass shop I worked at was to lay the flat on a bench, take a nylon block, we used uhmw, Lay it almost flat on the glass and start to gently tap the frame off all along the glass. I will take alittle bit to get the frame off as the gasket has a gripping surface that grabs the glass on most of them.

What I did to get my glass out was to spray some WD40 or PB Blaster on it and let it set for a day and then just keep working it like Muncie said or just hold the frame and pull the glass. Try to get the top corner out first and spary more blaster behind it. You'll be surprised how much rust is in there. Good luck.

Better Living through chemistry

I thought that a petroleum product would be in play, I may try soaking it in a vat of "snake oil" kerosene or the like for a while and then coaxes it out the frame.

Thanks for the tip..................
