Removing my windshield.

I did a search and it said i need a window knife, a trim molding tool, a warm day(heated shop), and some piano wire. What are the steps included in doing this. Would a guitar string work instead of piano wire. BTW this is in an 84 camaro. Thanks for the help.

A guitar string will probably work, but you need a wire that is smooth to make it as easy as possible to cut through the butyl rubber adhesive.

I was gonna say to look around for a new glass in case this one breaks first..Ya never know it can happen... Best have a plan B in case...

I'm a diy fan of almost everything except glass . It can be one of the things left to someone who does it everyday.
There is a tool that has a handle on the end of a cable that pulls a right angle blade through the glue .
