Removing old carpert and its adhesive
Hey guys,
Looking for any tips to remove the former carpet adhesive that is in my 1970 C10. I am updating the interior and would like to put a Dyna Mat type of product in. But the old carpert that was in the truck had spray on adhesive holding the padding down. Now it just all furry. I have been picking away at it but there has t be a better way. Any advice is appreciated. |
try a product called goof off. let it soak and you will be able to use a putty knife to scrape it off , let it fully dry , then wipe it down /and dry again. Then do the new . Get it at home depot.

If it's a contact adhesive, the solvent for it is mineral spirits or Xylol. There's also a product called Oops! that says it can remove glue. Mineral spirits will be far less expensive.
