well because in the picture the old bearing looks like its missing a piece to the left side of it shouldnt there be a ring going around it where there is just a groove at?
Just wondering if i need to look for shredded parts of bearing threwout the bell housing case or just leave it alone and install new throwout bearing, and the used sm465 i just bought ($40) YAY

So after pulling it i noticed that there was a ring thing hanging on shaft and i will upload a picture of it, in pic you cant tell but in one of the little groves is a little ball like a BB and im guessing there were more and it is some kind of bearing ring isnt it?

Can anyone answer this above aswell so i know if i need to replace a bearing somwhere BEFORE i go installing the new PITA transmission? Thanks and just want to do it once so im double checking stuff.

The piece in your first picture is a the mangled cage of what was the throwout bearing. This is probably why it looks different. The old one is junk. It should be pretty easy to tell which way to put the bearing on the fork. The bearing side (smooth) will go against the pressure plate.

I cant my phones broke, but im going to install throwout bearing and re-install the old tranny and if it holds fluid and doesnt hurt anything then im going to just use it, and if not then ill need to buy a new jack and remove tranny agin because i cant even get it from under my truck with the hydraulic motorcycle jack i used as it doesnt lower lol. Also im guessing the thing in the middle of clutch plates thats round is where i need to get the input shaft back into rite?
