I did it!
I gave it a little tought and the answer came eventualy...
I took an every day tool and converted it into a "steering-wheel remover"
It came off in an instand!

Man, I REALLY hate he won't let you show pictures, but I respect you for doing what you said you would.

I'm building a '37 4 door. I just bought the car and an LS engine to put in it in the last few weeks. I hope to begin teardown pretty and I'd love to see your build.

Yes, It's a shame the owner won't show the car until it's done. But I have to respect his wishes. Yesterday I took the body off its frame. The frame is really bad but I think I can save it.

I saw a complete '37 frame for 350 bucks on craigslist last night, so that may be an option if needed.
