Removing surface rust off Mags

How should I go about getting surface rust off of polished mags? The wheels in general, just need a good cleaning. But the area where water would probably pool if it was to rain has some rust.

I am totally new with Mags and nice shiney things. Thanks guys.

There was a good product called Never Dull that worked great for that. I am not sure if they still make it or not. It came in a can and was a big wad. You just tear a little chunk off and rub it on the rust. Takes it away.

Rock on and God bless...

Never Dull

I just saw Never Dull at Wal-Mart kinda looks like chewed up rags called wadding.I just bought 4 Shelby slot mags for $20 at a swap meet and cleaned them up with 000 steel wool and Simichrome.Good Luck!

First, you probably do not have MAG wheels. You may have aluminum alloy wheels.

In either case they do NOT rust. They will oxidize. There are cleaners designed to clean the oxidation off and then they can be re-polished.

If you have rust, then you have steel wheels.

Rust can be removed from steel wheels but unless you have them re-plated they will not keep a shine and the area where the rust was removed will not shine up as well as the chromed area.
