A common problem on engines that are together for awhile. Take an old socket or used wristpin ( that's what I prefer so as to not damage my tools) and put it around the valve, on top of the retainer and give it a hard whack with a ball peen. Do all of the valves and that should jar them loose for removal, often stubborn ones need an extra whack or two.Make sure that the valves aren't going to hit anything when you strike them, so as not to damage them. I use a cyliner head holder, but a couple of short 2x4's at the ends will keep it elevated enough to avoid valve impact.
