To repair or redo filler Line?

Here's my picture of my weld in piece on my filler line in the red circle. Did not like the way the metal was looking so.. :

Here's my question. Under the filler line (Evercoat Rage)I have 2 coats of epoxy primer(mp170) and that's what I'm going to do with the weld in piece also but should I take the whole bottom portion of the filler line back to metal and do it all again or can just work in the section piece? I'm not sure what to do here and could use some advice. Also as a side note keep those MIG welders away from that filler... . Although it does slow burn really nice. No I've learned a lesson about MIGs and filler. But any advice would be muchos apreciated.

Just grind or sand the filler off a few inches around the new weld area, spot in or brush on some epoxy primer and apply any filler needed.
